Oh, and for more traditional sources of foreign news, I turn to Foreign Policy magazine, Medium4's Foreign TV and the the Library of Congress' Handbook Series.

I'm usually prety leery of independent media -- not because the big boys always get it right, but at least I know what they are. (The rumor about CNN faking the footage of Palestinians celebrating, for example, was put on the web by an indie news site with the rationale that getting the information out would be the best way to check it. That's just irresponisble.) But recently I've been turning to a news site ran by two Israeli journalists about the Mid East. Check out Debka.com for breaking inside information.
